In the upcoming months, WhatsApp will experience generative AI for the first time, according to a report from Meta.
It is apparent why the corporation made the fast switch from Metaverse to AI, and billions of WhatsApp users will notice this change.
In essence, generative AI for users examines an AI chatbot On WhatsApp attributes, responds to your inquiries, generates WhatsApp stickers using AI prompts, and similarly generates graphics using AI technology.
According to Meta, these AI technologies let you express yourself more freely and work more efficiently. It ensures end-to-end encryption protects all AI data.
Here are the specifics of the new AI features that will soon be available to WhatsApp users.
Meta AI characters
The business is releasing 28 additional AIs in beta, available for messaging on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, in addition to Meta AI. These AIs resemble a large group of interesting personalities, each with a distinct past.
Meta has teamed up with cultural influencers and icons to symbolize and personify some of these AIs to make the interactions seem more like talks with familiar people.
These AI avatars will have profiles on Facebook and Instagram so that fans may get to know them better and interact with their distinctive personalities.
Emu is an image-generating model that Meta has developed using its Llama 2 language model. According to the manufacturer, this device can transform the WhatsApp text prompts you to send into premium stickers.
Over the next month, WhatsApp and other Meta apps will gradually roll out the capability to some English-language users. To create the AI sticker of your choosing, simply navigate to WhatsApp’s GIF section and select the Create button.
Create images with AI
WhatsApp allows you to create AI-generated graphics, much like you can with stickers. To let the AI model work its magic, all you have to do is send a text message with the subject line @ Meta AI/imagine and your request. To use this AI feature, you don’t need to enable any extra settings.
Meta adding AI features for editing
Restyle and Backdrop are two new AI tools that Meta is bringing to Instagram. While Backdrop alters the background or environment of a photograph based on prompts, Restyle enables users to apply visual styles to their images.
Meta says that to protect privacy, “images created with restyle and backdrop will indicate the use of AI to reduce the chances of people mistaking them for human-generated content.”
Meta is also introducing AI Studio, a platform that will enable companies, artists, and developers to create AI apps for Meta’s messaging platforms and the metaverse, in addition to these functionalities.
AI CHATBOT ON WHATSAPP
An AI chatbot ON WHATSAPP is a necessary component of any AI integration, and Meta is bringing the technology to WhatsApp as well.
Similar to other chatbots on the market, the Meta AI chatbot will outline gift suggestions for consumers and/or any specific questions they have.
Through our search collaboration with Bing, Meta AI has access to real-time data and provides a tool for image generation, according to the business.
Users using WhatsApp must text @metaAI before sending their message and waiting for the AI chatbot to respond.
The business hasn’t specified which AI model is being used for this. The AI stickers are powered by secure technology, though they didn’t specify which sort.
The way this operates is somewhat similar to other models where you can create your images, like Midjoureny or OpenAI’s DALL-E.
Additionally, the app will alert you if any stickers created by AI may be harmful or inappropriate. But we are unsure about their response.
According to the article from WABetaInfo, a sticker will bear a distinctive identifier if it is produced using Meta’s AI.
