Nest Secure: The DIY Alarm System
When the Nest Secure alarm system was introduced in 2017, its goal was to give households a simple, do-it-yourself security solution.
The system contained a hub, a keypad, and a number of motion-detecting sensors that could be installed throughout the house to open doors and windows when motion was detected.
The Nest Secure and the Nest app were both connected, giving consumers direct access to their alarm system and warnings in alarming situations.
Dropcam: Home Security Camera System
Dropcam, on the other hand, was a popular home security camera system that was acquired by Nest in 2014 for $555 million.
The original Dropcam models were eventually rebranded as Nest Cam, but Google has confirmed that the original models will no longer be supported after April 2024.
