How to avoid Blood Pressure? BP problem is a common problem nowadays. Today almost one in three persons suffer from blood pressure.
Blood pressure: A silent killer
Blood pressure should not be ignored as blood pressure is also called a silent killer.
People generally do not know that they have been suffering from a blood pressure problem. Though they feel symptoms of blood pressure like headache, weak eyesight, etc. but they get the treatment of these problems separately and their blood pressure problem keeps increasing.
This increases the chances of causing various problems. Such as poor eyesight, kidney problem, etc. In addition, the chances of having dangerous and life-threatening problems like heart attack, brain stroke are greatly increased.
Therefore, blood pressure should be checked as soon as symptoms are felt.
Do not trust the first blood pressure test.
Mistakes happen in 63 percent of cases.
According to the latest report of the Indian Journal of Medical Research, getting medicine after the first blood pressure test can also be harmful.
In the year 2015-16, during the National Family Health Survey-4, trained healthy workers measured the blood pressure of 6.78 lakh people.
In this survey, for the first time, 16.5 percent of people were found to have blood pressure patients while in the second test a few days later, this figure was reduced to 10.1 percent.
That is, about 63 percent of the results in the first investigation was wrong.
Therefore, it is being said that in the case of blood pressure, do not rely only on the results of the first investigation.
Often, doctors also start treatment after first examining BP. According to the new report, doing so can also be harmful.
These things should also be kept in mind while getting BP checked:
Get tested more than once on different days and different times.
Do not get tested immediately after consuming tea, coffee, etc as blood pressure rises for about fifteen minutes after consuming coffee, etc.
Do not get tested immediately after climbing stairs or exercising because the blood pressure is increased during that time.
Do not get tested during mental stimulation or nervousness.
Blood pressure measurement:
To measure blood pressure, two types of readings are taken. Systolic and diastolic.
When the heart muscles contracts (systole), its readings are called systolic.
When there is a state of relaxation (diastole), its readings are called diastolic. It happens between the two heartbeats and the process is called the cardiac cycle.

Blood pressure readings are indicated as systolic/diastolic. 120/80 mmHg is considered normal blood pressure. Here, the reading 120 mmHg represents systolic while 80 mmHg represents diastolic. Previously, 140/90 mmHg was considered a higher blood pressure but this standard has been changed since 2017 American Heart Association guidelines. Now, 130/90 mmHg is considered as higher blood pressure.

Blood pressure prevention measures:
We know that due to excess of fat in our body, the layer of fat in the blood vessels arises due to which the arteries become narrower. Due to this, the pressure of blood increases in the arteries.
Therefore, we should adopt such measures so that there is no accumulation of fat in the body.
We can be safe from BP as well as many other problems by getting just some simple steps as under.
If you are taking treatment for blood pressure, then you should adopt these measures. Although these remedies are less effective than medication, they can supplement your medicine and reduce the need for a physician.
