Ever since earbuds started coming in the market, they have been much liked by the people.

Since truly wireless earbuds do not have the hassle of wires. There are just two small buds that are to be placed in the ears. So users find them easy to use.

That is why they have been becoming very popular, among the youth.

The earbuds of various brands are available in the market. We have to choose the best one out of them according to our budget.

We are giving here the general specifications of earbuds in brief. It will help you in choosing the right device.

Driver size:

The driver is an important factor of the earbuds. It converts the electrical signals into sound. In other words, it can be said that it is the driver in audible devices which creates the sound that is listened to by our ears.

10 Essential Features of TWS

It is a general thinking that the larger driver tends to the better sound but it not entirely true.

The larger driver, of course, ensures the greater output of sound but it does not mean the better sound.

If a device is equipped with a large driver and its equivalent device is equipped with a small driver, it is not necessary that the audio of the device with a large driver is good.

In fact, the quality of audio does not depend only on driver size. There are many other factors that play their roles in improving the quality of audio.

However, the driver is the main component in an audible device which creates the sound.

Therefore, the size of the driver is considered to be an important factor in earbuds.

Battery Backup:

Wireless devices have the importance of how long it can work once fully charged.

Battery backup is a considerable factor in wireless earbuds also.

One good thing in the matter of earbuds is that when their battery backup is over, they are able to get an additional charge from their case.

The case can charge them once or twice as required unless its own charging is over.

Most earbuds take extra charging from the case twice.

Earbuds are usually able to operate for about 18 to 20 hours after taking extra charging from the case.

Shape & Design:

The true wireless earbuds are very easy to use. The user has just to place two buds in his ears.

It is being observed that users want to wear them most of the time. Even if they wear them while jogging in the park or doing exercise in the gym.

So they prefer earbuds of such size and design that fit in the ears comfortably and they do not fall off the ears.

In view of the need of time, earphone manufacturers are paying due attention to this aspect as well.

This is the reason why earbuds are being introduced today with very attractive designs and shapes that are beautiful in appearance as well as fit very comfortably in the ears.

You should also pay proper attention to their shape and design when purchasing earbuds.

Water Resistance:

As we mentioned above, earbuds are being used very much these days. Wearing them, someone sweats in the gym, while someone enjoys music on the beach.

Hence, attention was also paid to protect earbuds from water, sweat, dust etc.

To protect earbuds from sweat, water, and dust, earphone manufacturers are now making earbuds with water resistance power.

This resistance power is denoted by IPX rating. Here IP stands for Ingress Protection.

The higher the IPX rating means the higher the resistive power.

Noise Cancellation:

The entry of unwanted ambient noise in our ears while listening to music or making a call is really a great problem.

If you are in the market or in a place where there is noise in the environment, then you have difficulty listening to music or making calls.

Hence, nowadays the earbuds are being equipped with noise cancellation technology in order to provide you a noise-free atmosphere.

For noise cancellation, two methods are adopted.

10 Essential Features of TWS
Active Noise Cancellation:

Active noise cancellation is a technology that is used to cancel the outer noise by generating sound waves of equal frequency.

In this technology, the earbuds are arranged with additional microphones that recognize the frequency of ambient noise and generate sound waves of equal frequency.

Thus the system cancels the noise before entering the ears of the user.

It is necessary to clarify one thing here that the Active Noise Cancellation system can cancel out the continuous noise.  But it is not able to cancel the suddenly generated sound, like the sound of suddenly fallen glass.  Indeed, in such cases, it does not have enough time to recognize the frequency of sound.

Therefore, it is difficult to cancel sudden sounds produced.

However, Active Noise Cancellation support is a praise worthy feature in earbuds.

Yes, this feature is a bit expensive.

That is why Active Noise Cancellation support is generally provided in premium level earphones.

Passive Noise Cancellation:

As a passive noise cancellation arrangement, the earbuds are designed to be perfectly fit in the ears. Thus they prohibit the outer noise from entering the ears.

Frequency Response:

The human hearing range falls between 20Hz to 20000Hz. It means we can hear only the sound having a frequency between 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

Though in the sense of the human hearing capacity, there only two extremes of sound frequency i.e. 20Hz to 20KHz, but in the sense of musical instruments it is divided into three sections.

Bass:

The bass represents frequencies between 20 Hz to 300 Hz.

Middle:

Middle accounts for the frequencies lying between 300 Hz to 4000 Hz.

Treble:

Roughly treble counts stand for the frequencies above 4000 Hz.

10 Essential Features of TWS

As we know that our ears can respond only to sound weaves lying between 20Hz to 20KHz.

Now it depends on the quality of audio equipment that, from the lowest to the highest, how many frequencies it can reproduce. It is called the Frequency Response of that equipment.

Thus the Frequency Response of an audio device means how well that particular device reproduces all of the audible frequencies.

The quality of bass and treble of an earphone depends on how wider the spectrum of sound frequencies it can cover.

By the way, the quality earphones are often able to cover the entire range of frequency i.e. from 20Hz to 20KHz.

Latency Rate:

Latency is a major issue in case of wireless earbuds.

Although you will not feel this problem while listening to music, when you skip the song, then you will feel that the song is heard moments after you skip. This problem is noticed more when watching a movie or video.

The latency is, in fact, caused by a distortion in the frequency emanating from the audio source.

This causes a delay in data transfer from audio source to user. It is denoted by the latency rate.

However, audio device manufacturers have always been paying attention to this issue. The efforts are to continue to reduce the latency rate as far as possible.

We find that many brands are presenting such earphones that are dedicated to having the lowest latency rate.

Bluetooth:

The Bluetooth version has a great importance in case of wireless Bluetooth devices.

It is better to buy the earbuds having the latest version of bluetooth for speedy transmission of data.

Finger Touch:

The finger touch feature in earbuds allows you to give the command to the earbuds with just the touch of your fingers.

With your finger taps you can receive/end call, and play/pause/skip the music.

The finger touch feature of earbuds is a great facility for the user. it is priced to be very helpful to him many times, particularly while driving etc.

AUTO-PAIRING:

What is Auto-Pairing in earbuds?

Once you connect your earbuds to your device, then after that whenever you take out the earbuds from the case, if your device has Bluetooth turned on, your earbuds automatically connect to your device.

That is, you have to connect the earbuds to your smartphone or laptop for the first time, after that they will continue to connect to the device itself.

This is called auto-pairing.

However, this feature is present in almost all earbuds. But it works better in better quality earbuds. So when buying earbuds you should also pay attention to the quality of this feature.

Conclusion:

We have provided you the complete detail of all the necessary features you should look for in the earbuds.

We hope this will be proved to be helpful to you in choosing the best earbuds.
